About Me
Behind the Lens
In my teens I learned how to use a Single Lens Reflex camera. I was inspired by my father who liked to photograph our family. Using my brother’s Pentax SLR camera, my father helped get me started by explaining photography concepts like depth of field and stop-motion and we took a few photography classes together at our local community college.

When the Covid pandemic waned, I began to concentrate on the passing moments of life, specifically on small ephemeral moments in nature. With a Canon Rebel T6 and 90D, I photographed metaphorical representations of human existence, which I found in the everyday flora around us. I decided to obtain an associate’s degree in fine art at Shoreline Community College to deepen my knowledge in art and photography, and found my passion to be in documentary photography.

With documentary photography I can tell a subject's story. A relationship deepens over time between photographer and subject. Images and words work in unison to convey the context of a story.
